Hello I’m Ingrid, a plein-air, landscape & figurative oil painter.

I live in Hayle, in beautiful West Cornwall.

My land and seascapes focus on the light, colours, atmosphere, and feel of a place at a specific moment. I am often out painting in my local area - see my Instagram account to find out where I've been!

There are typically no crowds in my paintings, and figures are usually alone. The theme which unites my current figurative and landscape work is tranquility in solitude, the state of being alone. Comfort in aloneness, rather than loneliness. Peaceful solitude in nature, at home, with one’s thoughts, or even in a crowded setting. These moments of inner quietness are essential for our being, and observing this state presently drives my output, through my subject matter of life, land and light.

I’ve exhibited in St Ives and London’s Mall Galleries, and commercial galleries in the UK. My work hangs in happy homes nationally, across Europe, and in the US. I am also an Associate Member of the Penwith Society of Arts in St Ives.
