Born in Bogotá, Diego has focused on promoting the traditional music of the Colombian/Venezuelan plains (arpa llanera = harp of the plains), as well as expanding his repertoire and skills in the field of Latin American music.
He’s lived in London for over 20 years, and in addition to performing as a solo harpist he’s involved in various musical groups and projects in South East England. Diego also works as a tutor at harp festivals across Europe.

Following on from Anagha Bhat’s khyal recital in April, the World Classics Series continues with a recital of music for Latin harp or arpa llanera by the Colombian musician Diego Laverde Rojas.
