Liz is a well-established mixed media artist, who exhibits throughout the UK.
A sense of place is central to her work, she is an avid beachcomber spending many happy hours combing the beaches & cliff tops for treasure – windfall leaves, shells, driftwood, tiny broken pieces of blue & white china, small polished patterned pebbles, rusty pieces of metal in all shapes & sizes - which will evoke memories and tell stories of time & place.
Nature within the landscape, whether coastal, woodland or urban; has always influenced Liz’s work. She has a special interest in the coast finding it a calming, meditative place, which she tries to capture in her work.
She spends time contemplating the landscape and observing the colours, patterns and textures hidden within it. Using her finds and ecologically sustainable print, paint and dyeing processes to colour and mark cloth/paper she is hoping to document our impact on the landscape, as well as the effects of time and the elements on natural and manmade objects.
