Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, your donation may be eligible for Gift Aid. This allows us to claim an additional 25p from HM Revenue & Customs for every £1 donated, at no extra cost to you.

Unrestricted gifts provide the greatest flexibility, enabling the Club's Trustees to direct funds where they are most needed.

Supporting a Specific Project

If you would like your donation to support a particular programme, exhibition, educational initiative, building project, or artistic activity, we would be delighted to discuss your wishes.

Please contact us before making a restricted donation so that we can ensure your gift is used in accordance with your intentions and the Club's charitable objectives.

Memorial and Celebration Gifts

Many supporters choose to make donations in memory of a loved one, or to mark a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, retirement, or significant achievement.

We are honoured to receive gifts that celebrate lives, achievements, and a shared love of the arts.

 

Leave a Gift in Your Will

​

A gift in your Will can help ensure that future generations continue to benefit from the arts and cultural opportunities that our Club provides.

After making provision for family and loved ones, many supporters choose to leave a legacy to a charity whose work has been important to them.

​

A legacy gift may be:

• A fixed sum of money

• A percentage of your estate

• The remainder (or part of the remainder) of your estate after other gifts have been made

• A gift of shares, investments, property, artworks, or other valuable assets

Even a modest legacy can have a lasting impact.

Suggested Wording

If you are considering leaving a gift to the Club in your Will, we recommend that you seek independent legal advice.

Your solicitor may find the following wording helpful:

"I give [the sum of £____ / ____% of my residuary estate] to St Ives (Cornwall) Arts Club Society CIO, registered charity number 1182423, for its general charitable purposes. I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer shall be a full discharge to my executors."

Inheritance Tax Benefits

​

Gifts to UK registered charities are generally exempt from Inheritance Tax. In some circumstances, leaving at least 10% of your net estate to charity may reduce the rate of Inheritance Tax applied to the remainder of your taxable estate.

We are deeply grateful for every donation we receive.

Unless a donor prefers to remain anonymous, we may acknowledge significant gifts in our annual reports, publications, or donor recognition programmes.
