Beginning with an abstract process, Chloe works on multiple panels at the same time - this way there is a coherence between the paintings as they share a similar colour palette and mark making.  After putting down a colourful and textured ground, Chloe sketches the subject matter loosely over the top in pencil, then adds more loose marks to ‘knock back’ the drawing. Chloe then adds colour and contrast to bring the figurative elements to the fore.

 

By working in an exciting range of different mediums; from acrylic paints and ink to charcoal and pastels, she makes confident marks in her artwork, to bring the energy of Cornwall to the canvas.
