Waves of colour exhibition
Sharon McSwiney & Alison Dupernex
St Ives Arts Club, Westcott’s Quay, St Ives TR26 2DY
1st – 7th October 2022
A visual feast of colour with artwork, metal wall sculptures & jewellery created by Sharon McSwiney, based in St Ives, alongside fellow creative maker, from Worcestershire, Alison Dupernex’s wearable textile art. Both designers are inspired by the Cornish colours & textures of the landscape.
This exhibition will showcase the variety of work they both produce carefully by hand in their respective studio spaces. This is now an annual coming together of these makers whose work has a strong connection to St Ives.
Silk & cashmere yarns are combined to evoke the colours of the sea & sand with jackets & scarves. While brass & copper is worked into seaweed ‘landscapes’ wall art. Silver limpet shells & seaweed fronds are created into desirable jewellery pieces.
