I am a largely self-taught artist and have been painting for about 20 years I have painted abstracts, realistic landscapes, flowers and animals using watercolour, gouache, acrylic, pencils and more recently oils and mixed media.

Painting allows me to relax and focus, connecting with my inner self - my memories, moods and feelings. I am increasingly aware of the influence the unconscious has on the subject, colour, media and tools I use for any given work, and more and more I just go with the flow choosing what feels right. Nature is often an inspiration for my work, be it flowers and trees, the sea, animals or mountains. I want to draw the viewer in to feelings of light and colour, the wonder and power of nature and how we and it are all connected.

Now based in Carbis Bay, I am doing the Porthmeor Programme in 2024 at the St Ives School of Painting.
